Situated to the East of Wickford Town Centre and north of the Southend Road, this sought after residential area grew even more in the 1950's following the sale of Beauchamps Farm.

There was a Roman military marching camp on the Beauchamps Farm site, which was succeeded by a Roman villa. The land is now occupied by Beauchamps High School, the centerpiece of the area and rated as Outstanding by OFSTED.

The area boasts the 80-acre Wickford Memorial Park, bordered to the north by the River Crouch and which dates from 1949 when Wickford needed a proper recreational area, and that a Park would make a very suitable war memorial for Wickford losses from World War II. Since then it has grown and evolved into a large park with a children's playground and sports facilities. As well as 80 Acres of Parkland there is a Cricket Pitch, Football Pitch, Six-rink Bowling Green, Tennis Court (Hard Surface), Basketball Court, Crazy Golf, the Children's Playground, Sports Pavilion, a Riverside Walk, Rose Gardens, a small Woodland and of course the Memorial Avenue.

On the corner of Hill Avenue and Southend Road a row of shops provides the daily essentials, the key shop being a Tesco Express. Further shops include a rather good 'Fishnchicken' takeaway, Newsagents, Drycleaners, Barbers and DIY store.

The area is within a mile of the Town Centre with bus stops a-plenty giving fast and easy access.
